Everyone knows the forums are slow as shit.
And everyone knows that godaddy isn't going to do anything without undeniable proof.
This is where you, everyone, come in!
Soloist would ask you that whenever you experience forum lag you perform a route trace to forum.soloistmodcentral.com with tracert (on windows)
If you don't know how to do that or thought i spoke gibberish read below!
For Windows Vista/7
1) Press Windows Key + R to open Run box.
2) Type in cmd as shown below. Press Enter.
3) Type in tracert forum.soloistsmodcentral.com as shown below. Press Enter.
4) Wait! After it's done make a screenshot of the command prompt with Alt + PrtScn. It should look like this. You might have to size-up the window so all the output is shown.
Post the output screenies here and help Soloist fix this!

Soloist, Itsalati and myself are in the process of redoing the main website to make it more pleasing and functional. Have a look, give us some feedback, and please bear with us through whatever errors may arrise.

I finally got rid of GameServers as my game server provider. Whew.
Now even more exciting I now have Virtual Private Server (VPS) from Nuclear Fallout.
With this VPS I have full control over the server's operating system.
So that means I can create any server I want and run it.
I have full control over the tickrate, slots, redirect, and other fun and exciting things
Currently Installed Servers and IP Addresses
18 Slot Counter-Strike Source Beta - 63.251.20.209.27015
20 Slot Team Fortress 2 - 63.251.20.176
8 Slot Garry's Mod - 63.251.20.176
6 Slot Killing Floor - 63.251.20.176
8 Slot Left 4 Dead - 63.251.20.176
8 Slot Left 4 Dead 2 - 63.251.20.176
Alien vs Predafail - 63.251.20.176
32 Slot CoD4 - 63.251.20.209

I've created two new steam groups for SMC.
Ones for Members and the other is for the public.
Hopefully we can get some more members and we will use the public group for players who join our servers and want to become members.
I've sent request to everyone for the members only group and once everyone is in then I will delete the old one.
You can also join the public group as well.

I have brought back the Team Fortress 2 server.
Its a 16 slot server based out of Chicago.
The IP address is 68.232.169.250.
The server will be set as an idle server.
The idea behind this is to get a steady player base.
Then once and a while we can switch to a normal game and actually have people to play.

I will be taking the forums down tonight for maintenance. The maintenance could take all night or just a couple of hours, I am not sure yet.
It involves me deleting the database, so I am hoping the backup and restore utility will work and no information will be lost.
The maintenance will start at 6ish EST.
I will post to this topic when its completed.

I have purchased two new servers. I will be canceling the current CSS server, and these will replace that
A 24 slot CSS server (8.9.36.158) and a 24 slot TF2 server (8.9.9.203).
Both servers are now located in Chicago, Gameservers had a 50% off deal which is better than the current deal I had.
I now have the luxury of trying different locations to find the best ping for everyone. So if Chicago sucks I can switch to somewhere else.
Have fun and enjoy the new servers.

We've purchased a new 20 slot CSS Server. You can find it at 66.55.158.47. Please join us and try it out! Our success relies on you, the player, so please join us on the forums!
Currently we are running CSSDM but we have a zombie mod in the works. Visit the forums and give us your input. Once it's complete we will playtest and tweek. Everyone's welcome to help, so please give us your good ideas.

I just ordered a Natural Selection server, it is a 20 slot server that is hosted out of New York/New Jersey.

I order a 20 slot Counter-Strike Source Server and a 15 slot Ventrilo Server
I will order one month at a time and hopefully will be able to switch games every couple of months.
The cost of that is $22.95 a month. I am waiting for my payment to clear and then I will set up the server.
I should have it up by the weekend. The server is located in NY/NJ.
For those of you who haven't added an admin applications and would like too, do that by next Saturday, and
we will make our decision by Saturday Night. We will only be accepted 4-5 admins to start. If you donate
then you will automatically get admin.

This is the moment you have all been waiting for.I finally decided to invest in web hosting for SMC.
$60 a year later with GoDaddy and here we are.
Since I don't feel like digging up the backups for the forums and then converting to PHPBB3,
I am going to just start fresh. I setup the basics for forums, and created a separate forum for ideas on
new categories and forums. So post ideas and I will create new ones.
Also I will be creating a Admin application forum for access to
moderators. Mak will get Admin access, and I will be looking for a few moderators. There will also be the
SMC member secret forums, and all old members will still be get access.
I won't have any servers for a while. If I get enough requests for it, and maybe some donations, I will
look into finding some hosting site, and rent a server.
Well Welcome Back. Get all of the old members back, and if you have made new friends from other servers
invite them here, so we can get SMC back.
